New York is considered to be the birthplace of Hip-Hop and the mecca of, lyricism, metaphors and similes. Sean Ray, aka “Phenom” embraces his New York roots to create rhymes that truly live up to his name.

“I strive to be a dope lyricist. Being from NY and being a rap fanatic, i think that’s kind of instilled in me because that's what i pride myself into to doing when i make records.“

His latest single “Take Notes” just dropped on July 11th and it’s the 1st single off of his upcoming project "Survival Of The Fittest". An 8 track EP full of hard hitting beats, melodies that get stuck with you all day, and an underlying message that is sure to encourage the world to be the best they can be.

“I chose that title because i think that's the mind-state that i'm in right now. I'm hungry, i'd say i'm the epitome of a "starving artist". To do anything in life you have to be strong enough to chase whatever it is that you're after, but once you achieve and accomplish that goal you have to be strong enough to maintain it.”

The young emcee found his passion for music at the age of 14 and has since then released two full length projects. His lyrical abilities, diverse sound, and true sense of self is what makes him unique to the industry. Inspired by the likes of Kanye, Pharell, Jay-Z, Rakim, Nina Simone, Nas, Lauryn Hill, and Outkast, Phenom aims to keep the empowerment and lyricism in hip-hop alive.

"My only goal is to inspire and motivate the youth to be great and let them know that anything is possible."
